Welcome to the Omaha I-80 Cosmopolitan Club

We are a service organization who raises awareness of those affected by Type 1 diabetes (T1D).

From sponsoring College World Series teams to volunteerism, and hosting popular fundraising events like our Casino Night and a golfing tournament, the Omaha I-80 Cosmopolitan Club has fun.

Who We Are:

Our fundraising events provide funds for:

  • Scholarships for children living with T1D to attend diabetes summer camps. Children sponsored by our club may attend Camp Hot Shots - a 3 day “day” camp for diabetic children ages 6 to 11 as well as Camp Floyd Rogers - a week long overnight camp for diabetic children ages 8 to 18. At camp, the campers get to experience a “typical” summer camp while meeting other T1Ds all while being closely monitored by healthcare professionals in order to keep them safe.

  • Fund research for Breakthrough T1D Nebraska - Iowa Chapter.

  • We partially fund the Cornbelt Diabetes Connections (CDC) Mobile Diabetes Unit. This unit is staffed by nursing students from the Methodist School of Nursing and provides over 2000 free diabetes screening annually. The CDC Mobile Unit is the ONLY FREE mobile diabetes testing unit in the United States.
